Flower-Infused Gelato...just because it's Valentine's season

Fun Facts about Flower-Infused Gelato that you wanted to know but were afraid to ask:

1. Rose water was first produced in the medieval Islamic world through the distillation of roses.

2. Rose water has an affinity for vanilla, cream, White chocolate, rice and mild cheeses such as Brie or cream cheese.

3. Violet Gelato is inspired by the preparation of the Candied Violets "Violette candite", an old Northern Italy tradition, where fresh flowers were meticulously candied with sugar and served with Glazed Chestnuits - Marron Glace.

4. The citrus floral taste of lavender is characteristic of French provincial cooking.

5. Warm honey gently infused with lavender in a tea ball or cheesecloth bag to insure a subtle and intriguing flavor into the honey.

Celebrate National Ice Cream Month With Paciugo Gelato

Paciugo Gelato Hermosa Beach as seen on Yelp eNewsletter.....Yelp's Ice Cold Chillin', read on to see what the YELP is all about...

It's official: Summer has arrived and brought with it National Ice Cream Month! That's right, 31 government-approved days and nights to eat the cold creamy goods with reckless abandon. Straight from the carton or out of a cup, it's time to rock out with your cone out. And whether it's fro-yo, gelato, or the classic stuff, yelpers have the scoop on just how to celebrate this momentous time of year.

Even grown-up kids like Craig Rlove an ice cream sandwich and when you find a spot like Diddy Riese, praise can only be sung: "Diddy, Diddy, Diddy can't you see? Sometimes your ice creams hypnotize me; And I just love your fresh baked cookies, I guess that's why your line stays so long all day." Well, that, and at $1.50 each, the old fashioned prices.

Down in Hermosa, Paciugo Gelato understands variety is the spice, leaving Lori K relieved: "I didn't need to pick one flavor, since I could get up to three in a size small. And for less than 200 calories, no need to feel guilty about having this treat!"

If quality and quantity are what you seek, Cheri Gadores the mega "two scoop" at Al Gelato in Beverly Hills. "Seriously, it's like The Hulk reached in and slammed two heaping portions onto that tiny metal cup." Adventurous palate like Courtenay T? Sample Rose Market's "distinct and delicious cantaloupe, cucumber, rose, saffron and blueberry." In Culver, Mateo's scoops up the exotic to locals like Colleen L, who chill with flavors like "smoked milk that tasted a little like a rich, toasted nut ice cream." But be warned: "the sugar rush went immediately to my head." The cure? More ice cream, stat!

Screamin' for more? The Valley has no shortage of icy tricks up its sleeve. Out in Woodland Hills, Stephanie Sis giddy with Yogurt Delite, where everything is not just delicious, but "all of their flavors are fat free, and they usually have one that's sugar free as well!" And at Northridge's Rosegreen, they "always have the freshest in-season fruit," according to Kelly T, plus, "where else in the Valley can you get yogurt and watch Korean dramas that you don't understand on a big TV screen?" Fresh fruit toppings and language tutorial? Doesn't get much cooler than that.

Enjoy the sweet indulgence of National Ice Cream Month. Paciugo Gelato Caffe is located at 1034 Hermosa Avenue, Hermosa Beach, CA.
